Charlotte: Nik, what is it?
Klaus: Every 20 years, you find your way back to me. But shortly after you do, something happens, and you die. Then I’m lost for 20 more years til you find me again. The cycle never ends, and I can never change the outcome.
Charlotte: That’s impossible.

“I feel so bad… I did this to her. This is why she’s been so distant from everyone since summer… and I just found out. I don’t know what to do. It’s my fault.” Jeremy spoke slowly and quietly as he looked down at his empty hands that were folded together.
“This isn’t your fault Jeremy,” Charlotte replied as she put her hand on his shoulder, “both of you should have been more careful. But you’ll figure this out, I promise. Don’t beat yourself up over this okay?”
Jeremy ran his hand through his hair, bit his lip, and looked away from Charlotte. How could he not blame himself for what has happened? How could he not ‘beat himself up over it’? He felt guilty. He was guilty. “I don’t know how we’re going to get past this…”
“You will,” Charlotte replied. Sure she didn’t have all the answers for Jeremy right now but she knew they’d figure it out one way or the other. “You have time to figure this out. You don’t have to figure it out right this second.”
Jeremy sighed as he pulled away to look at Charlotte. “Mom and dad are going to kill me…” Jeremy took a sip of the last bit of beer he had left and threw out the bottle. “I don’t even know if I want her to keep the baby or not…”
“You two should probably talk about that,” Charlotte said with a nod. “That way you two know what you’re getting yourselves into.” She wasn’t sure what was the best choice for them. Keeping the baby, not keeping the baby. Either way, it was going to be hard on both Jeremy and Caroline.
“I know… we’ll talk about it next time I see her, I guess…” Jeremy took in a deep breathe and thought back to the summer.
“You two will figure this all out eventually,” Charlotte said with a nod. “I’m sure she’s freaking out about this too.” She knew she would be if she was in their situation. She honestly wouldn’t know how she’d handle it if this happened to her.

Jeremy nodded, “I know… I’ll talk to Jenna tomorrow, I guess.” Jeremy looked over at Charlotte. “Everyone’s going to freak out… this is going to be a living hell.”
“Well…I’ll support you either way Jeremy so at least you have me on your side.” Charlotte wasn’t just going to disown Jeremy or something. Sure, she may not have been Caroline’s biggest fan at times but if Jeremy liked her then well…she was going to have to put her feelings aside for him.
Jeremy smiled at Charlotte “that actually means a lot” he told her. “Thank you” he added. He hopped off the counter and hugged Charlotte. “I’m so sorry… it was a mistake…. I didn’t think it would come to this.”
“It’s okay,” Charlotte replied as she hugged Jeremy. “You don’t have to apologize to me for anything.” He really didn’t. Everyone made mistakes and sometimes things just happened. Sure, what was going on sucked but…he would definitely have her in his corner.

Jeremy turned around to face Charlotte and nodded, “I think so… I’m not sure… I… I never expected this to happen.” Jeremy sighed as he jumped on top of a counter to sit on it. “What am I going to do? I’m just in 11th grade, Charlotte.”
“I know Jeremy,” Charlotte said quietly. “You know I have your back no matter what and you know if anyone else has your back it’s going to be Jenna.” If anyone wasn’t going to judge him then that person would be Jenna. She knew how much their aunt loved and adored all of them. Any of them could go to her with anything and she would keep it to herself or try her best to help them.
“That’s what Caroline said… I just hope you two are right… yeah Jenna has gone through things, but I don’t know how she’ll react to this.” Jeremy shrugged slightly and took a sip from his beer.
“She’ll help you the best way she can,” Charlotte replied with a sigh. “I mean at least you’re sticking my Caroline’s side. Jenna’s doing this all on her own.” She felt bad for her aunt but Jenna was a strong woman. If anyone could get through this it would be her.
